Berlinskej Model puts on the exhibitions of Czech artists and artists from abroad and participates in international gallery tours. BM’s dramaturgy seeks the inclusion of Czech art into an international context while providing space for progressive thinking and concepts. Above all, the gallery’s program focuses on contemporary art with an overlap into politics, ecology and other socially engaged directions of artistic expression. BM’s goal is to maintain its profile as an alternative gallery capable of quickly reacting to the progressive trends and needs of the art world within a framework of social and ecological responsibility. BM wants to demarcate space for a sphere of art refusing to relent to capital and artists resisting commodification. The gallery also hosts workshops, discussion panels, concerts and publishes RAJØN, its own artistic magazine, which is distributed in Prague and Berlin.
Based in Prague’s Holešovice neighborhood since 2011, Berlinskej Model’s exceptionality continues to lie in the unique concept it has adhered to since its founding: short term exhibitions throughout the year put on, taken down and exchanged with lightning speed several times each month.
The gallery’s exhibition projects are supported by The Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, The City of Prague, The City District of Prague 7 and the State Fund for Culture of the Czech Republic. This website was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
