Katy McCarthy
Katy McCarthy is an artist working in video and sculpture based in Austin, TX. She has had recent solo presentations at Ivester Contemporary and the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas. She has participated in group shows at Tiger Strike Asteroid, Cluster Gallery, Flux Factory, and the Santa Barbara Contemporary Art Museum. Her videos have screened at NURTUREart’s 2018 Single Channel Video Art Festival, CUNY Video Festival, Queens Boulevard Film Festival, and Every Woman Biennial. She has been an artist-in-residence at LMCC Governor’s Island COVID-19 residency, SOHO20 Residency Lab; Grin City, Iowa; The Wassaic Project and in 2018 received the St. Elmo Fellowship at UT Austin. She received her MFA from Hunter College in January 2018. She is currently an adjunct lecturer at UT Austin.
