Christophe Gilland
was born in Dublin, Ireland; and after having grown up in Orlando (Florida) and Vancouver, (Canada) he moved to Prague in 2009. His latest body of work is comprised of sculptures, reliefs and drawings. A collaboration between scientific and wishful thinking; objects exist as sacred relics in the hands of a modern version of his eight year old self. Clay, resin and paint are used to build small environments inhabited by organic entities, animals, mushrooms and fossils. The desire to escape the human world through nature distorts both the organism and the observer, leading to a series of dreamy yet detailed hallucinations.
