Nongkran Jompo Panmongko – Collective Desires

Nongkran Panmongkol

Projection of 3 short films from a Thai artist living in Stockholm. The films are the artist’s analysis of Western society which she submits to tests of immediate emotions and logic. The author’s work draws on the tension between the reality of Southwestern Asia, which is quickly evolving and emancipating itself, and the calm tempo of life on the old continent. This tension is evident from its assessment of interpersonal – social relations and the negative effects of Western democracy on the otherwise naturally dynamic collective consciousness. Continuing Western emancipation raises lonely, liberated individuals who are at the same time aptic and collectively dead.
