Sleep paralysis is a condition between sleep and wakefulness, when the brain is already partially aware of reality, but is not yet able to sufficiently distinguish this reality from dreams and various contents of the subconscious. What is especially frightening is that the body is still unable to control muscles, so one feels almost completely paralyzed.
This condition is often accompanied by various hallucinations and a feeling of intense fear.
