Problem

Tomáš Roubal’s work deals with the criticism of society, social networks and cultural phenomena of the contemporary world. In contrast to fashionable polymers and 3D printing, he uses metal, which he forms and prints with a classic welding machine, which is more reminiscent of the 20th century and classical sculpture, but here it is used deliberately (in an absurd way) so that the form of the work critically expresses how “values” are created in the present, the work alludes to the vanity and vanity of industrial production, or production in general. Thousands of hours of slow cranking, all added up millimetres at a time by the automatically fed welding wire of a semi-automatic CO2 welder. The exhibition at the Berlin Model Gallery will feature recent works on Airbnb and the occupation of the city by mass tourism, personality burnout and false illusions of a person on social networks and the Internet in general.
