Statement

Art as a vehicle for subversive imagination is the idea at

the centre of my work. Being moved by a polemic relationship

to the audience, I have always worked with performance

and performance in image. The communication

that arises in the performer/audience meeting fascinates

me, and I use its affinity to everyday interaction to create

intimacy and exchange. Methodologically, a sway towards

play, participation, popular culture, and the imaginary

worlds of fantasy underbuild my processes and inform

my imagery. Throughout my process I am walking a

thin line; ricocheting between an excessive need of control

– expressing itself in exploration of rules for play and

interaction – and a longing for explosion, collision and

liberation.
